Spencer Green, GDS International – All about having a vision
Spencer Green did his early schooling from Millifield school and then joined King College to study law. A sports enthusiast Spencer Green represented Wales in the Rugby under-18 category and even played Junior Wimbledon. After graduation, he went on to join Sterling publication as Sales Executive and was later promoted to Sales Manager.
Spencer Green founded GDS a full publishing house in the year 1993. The intention was to introduce a specialised journal to cater the growing market in China and India. GDS International is headquartered in Bristol and now has offices across Cardiff (UK), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), New York (U.S.A.) and Sydney (Australia).
In 2000, GDS International launched its first Senior Executive Summit under the ‘Next Generation’ banner. This became the catalyst for ten years of rapid growth (GDS grew 40% in 2010). GDS Publishing was intended to specialize in industry-centric summits for senior decision makers. In the year 2010, GDS International had revenues of approximately £40 million. In 2011, GDS will hold over 70 Summits for C-level Executives from a wide range of industries and across the globe.
